Join Jenny for this playful floral styling workshop to celebrate the Springtime season and its bounty of botanicals, in all their wonderful forms, colours and scents.
We will explore the arching shapes and nodding heads of delicate flowers, the pretty twiggy-ness of early blossom and the heady perfume of jewel like Spring blooms. Think tulips, fritillaries, narcissus, muscari, hyacinth and lots more besides! We will first create flat-lay arrangements to photograph or sketch to get to know the flowers; you will then learn how to combine and arrange these flowers artfully into different types of small vessels to show them at their best; and then we will also create a gorgeous tablescape with them. Full guidance will be given, no previous floristry experience is necessary. This is the perfect workshop if you’d like to gain experience of floral styling for a wedding, party or just for your home - or simply if you love flowers!
This will be a relaxed morning of flowery, creative immersion where you will learn all about this early season of British and local flowers and how to bring this perfect moment of beauty into your home.
All materials and equipment will be provided and refreshments will be on hand. Your filled floral vessels will be yours to take away after the workshop, and extra flowers will be bunched up for you too. Any styled photographs taken, in addition to your own, will be shared with participants after the workshop.
Being environmentally responsible is important to us and as such all the materials for this workshop are sourced as locally as possible from British & Scottish specialist flower growers and our mechanics will be sustainable too, no floral foam will be used.
We’ll be hosting this workshop at Duke’s of West Barns, a gorgeous new gallery, cafe & studio space in Dunbar which is in a fantastic location close to Belhaven Bay, with ample parking.
